FINFLA Membership
Membership entitlement
The Membership of FINFLA is made up of all local property owners. FINFLA is run by and on behalf of all property holders on Meredith Lane and its feeder roads. Association business is discussed and voted on by members at the Annual General Meeting held in June each year.
At the AGM Members can:
- Elect trustees (the Executive)
- Determine annual road levies
- Vote on any other association business
- Stand for office
The executive, in the capacity of trustees, comprising a President, Vice-President, Secretary, Treasurer, Road Engineers, is authorised to collect annual road maintenance levies and conduct Association business as agreed by the members.

FINFLA road association fees
Property owners who have lots that fall within the subdivisions north of Fourteen Island Lake, on Meredith Lane and its feeder roads, have a joint responsibility, outlined in their property deeds*, to contribute to the upkeep of Meredith Lane.
Property holders in Mink Trap Lane and Sigsworth Lane, outside these subdivisions, without this condition written into their deeds, are requested to make voluntary contributions to the general maintenance fund.
All property holders who use Meredith Lane, permanent and seasonal, have an interest in contributing to the general maintenance fund, as everyone benefits from efforts to make the road safer, with good access for emergency vehicles.
Fees agreed for 2012 are:
Landowner Category Fee Level
All Year Round $180.00
Summer Use/All Year Round Weekends $150.00
Occasional Use $120.00
Vacant Land $ 75.00

A Special Thank You to those who consistently pay their dues and contributions, in a timely manner, year after year.
*In their property deeds (under the section: Plan of Subdivision) owners agree " . . .that they shall be responsible for the payment of annual road maintenance levies no later than February 1st of the next calendar year following notice of such levy, and that the trustees shall be authorised to take such collection procedures that may be required from time to time against any owner in default".

Welcome to new residents
Welcome to the Fourteen Island Lake community and the Fourteen Island North Feeder Lakes Association (FINFLA).
The Association is set up to maintain Meredith Lane. Membership is made up of all local property owners, and it is run by an executive comprising a President, Vice-President, Secretary, Treasurer, Road Engineer(s) and Lane Representatives of all the “feeder lanes” leading into Meredith Lane.
Each land owner pays an annual fee for maintenance of Meredith Lane (grading, gravel, improvements, etc) as it is not a Township adopted road.
Members agree fee levels at the annual general meeting of the Association and vote on all matters relating to road maintenance. As a member you are entitled to vote at the annual general meeting and stand for office.

Since 2006 Members have agreed that fees will be based on type of property use.
Current fee levels are set out below:
- All Year Round $180.00
- Summer Use/All Year Round Weekends $150.00
- Occasional Use $120.00
- Vacant Land $ 75.00
Please confirm the property use designation of your property and fee level, and notify us if it changes in the future.

Road impact levy
At the FINLA AGM 2009 the following policy was AGREED:
It shall be FINFLA policy that when heavy traffic associated with major work on a given property, such as building construction, building demolition, in-filling, excavation, renovations or other such work, which may include, but is not limited to, new home construction, results in significant adverse impact to the condition of Meredith Lane, then the Executive will bring this matter to the attention of the title holder of the deed of this property and invite them to make a donation to FINFLA to offset the cost of repairing the damage caused, suggesting a minimum donation reflecting the extent of the damage caused or double the annual ‘year round’ road fee, whichever is the least.
