FIMLA Water Quality
The FIMLA Lake Stewardship Plan:
- Outlines a range of issues related to the water quality of the FIMLA lakes;
- Establishes baseline measurements of water quality for future comparisons;
- Provides recommendations that address what needs to be done to educate and raise awareness to maintain good water quality in our lakes; and
- Proposes a set of actions and initiatives to achieve these aims.
These proposals are set out in the tabbed panels below, together with some material to act as a starting point for these tasks.
Volunteers are encouraged to come forward to help achieve the plan’s goal and objectives.

Water Sampling

- Establish a comprehensive water sampling program for all lakes.

- Establish a monitoring program for water levels across all lakes.
Dam Maintenance
Key deliverables and actions:
- Assess the condition of the two dams in the FIMLA system and engage South Frontenac Township, MNR, and Quinte Conservation in developing a comprehensive program to monitor and maintain these dams.
Education and Information to Maintain Good Water Quality

- Educate and inform our residents and visitors about what they can do to maintain good water quality in our lakes.
Septic Sytem Care and Maintenance

- Develop an awareness and education program on septic system care and maintenance.
